Grace, Mercy and Praise

1 Timothy 1:15-17

(1 Timothy 1:15-17 NIV)  "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst. {16} But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. {17} Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen."

My thoughts:

• Christ came into our world to seek and save lost people (Luke 19:10).  God’s grace is poured out through Jesus Christ.
• The closer one gets to Jesus, the more one recognizes their own sinfulness and walk in humility.
• Jesus went looking for Paul, poured His mercy out on him and saved him.  Paul’s salvation was evident as he used his life to continue Jesus’ ministry.  His life became a display of Jesus’ unlimited patience.  His life became an example for others to follow.
• Praise bursts out of a heart that comprehends God’s grace and mercy.

Application for us today:

• Christ came looking for us.
• Do we recognize our sinfulness?
• Are we walking in humility?
• Are we using our life to continue the ministry of Jesus?  What do we do with our time, treasure and talents
• Is our life an example for others to follow?
• Does praise burst out of our heart?

I love God's Word.  It's so relevant to us today.
